Developing your own personal style or changing your personal image requires that you pay attention to the clothes you\’re wearing. Sometimes it\’s difficult to keep up with all of the new trends in fashion, the new dresses, accessories, hair styles, pant lengths, and purses. And, while it may be downright impossible to stay completely trendy, it is also unnecessary and a poor use of your fashion funds to purchase a new wardrobe every season.
Instead, incorporate some of these fashion tips into your considerations and you will find that your budget goes further and you will be happier with your personal fashion style.
1. The first thing a person notices about you is not your clothes, not your purse and not your shoes. The first thing they notice is your face and so the first tip is about your skin. Take care of your skin on a daily basis. Get the correct formulation of skin cleansers and moisturizers for your skin type. If you are over 30 you should be using anti-aging formulations. Be sure to stay well hydrated, drinking at least eight glasses of water a day and keep your skin well moisturize.
2. Women should use makeup appropriately when they leave the house. A good base will help to smoothe the skin and make you look five years younger. Gentleman should take care to shave daily and use a good hydrating moisturizer afterwards for a soft smooth face.
3. Avoid wrinkles in your skin and your clothing! Stay out of the sun and use sunscreen on a daily basis. Even while at the office you will absorbs UV rays from ultraviolet lighting or from sitting next to the windows. Avoid wrinkles in your clothing as well by washing them according to directions and ironing when necessary. If you are running late in the morning you can hang your wrinkled clothing in the bathroom when you take a hot steamy shower and most of the deep wrinkles will come out.
4. Engage the services of a professional hairdresser who can help you determine the correct color and style of your hair. This style and color should match your skin tone and lifestyle but not necessarily the most current hairstyle in magazines.
5. Both men and women should pay close attention to their eyebrows. The eyes are the windows to the soul and your eyebrows are really close by! Dark bushy eyebrows only make you look closed off and angry and are by no means a sign of virility or beauty.
6. Be sure that the clothes you wear fit you well. They don\’t have to be the newest in style fashion statements. If they fit you well then you will look put together, but if they fit you poorly you will just look poorly dressed.
7. Unless you are a size 0 or size two, then men and women should stay away from pleated front pants. Pants should have flapless pockets and flat fronts with just enough stretch for comfort.
8. When wearing separates, don\’t worry too much when they don\’t match exactly. Tonal variations and coordination is more important than exact matches.
9. Individuals who are shorter should wear a slightly smaller prints while individuals who are taller can wear larger prints with more contrast without being dwarfed by their clothing.
10. Most women look good in a V-neck which makes the neck appear longer and is very flattering.
11. Do not purchase an entirely new wardrobe every season. Instead, incorporate one or two items from the new selection into your wardrobe to update your clothing. For instance, you may want to purchase a purse in the new \”in\” color or one pair of new shoes to dress up your standard black dress.
12. Both men and women should learn their body types so that they are able to purchase clothing that flatters them in the best possible manner. Some of us have skinny bottom halfs or bigger bottom halfs while others are short waisted or petite. Each of these different body types requires a specific type of clothing to fit well and show off your best assets.
13. Choose your accessories as carefully as you choose your clothing. Remember that necklaces, earrings and handbags can all dwarf a woman as quickly as large prints an oversized tops. Men should also pay special attention to ties and briefcases which are just as much accessories as handbags and earrings.
14. Do not forget to add cologne or perfume. Before you even open your mouth the scent you give off tells the other person as much about you as your first couple of sentences. You can subtly establish power, grace and wisdom with the right clothes, accessories and scent.
