Hair style part of personal style

\"HairWhen we are developing our own personal style it is important to not overlook the importance of your hair style. We are all born with hair and for many of us, we are never satisfied with it. It\’s too long, too short, not shiny enough, too curly, not straight enough, too bushy or too limp. It\’s part of the human condition to always appreciate the grass on the other side of the fence. The other woman or man has better hair, better cut, better style, better color or it just plain looks better.

Your hair style actually says a lot about how you feel about yourself, how powerful you are and how confident you are in your abilities. In the corporate world confidence and power is important. And you will find many stay at home moms who will tell you that it is just as important to have that power at the PTA meetings or bus stop.

Take a long look in the mirror. Does your current style accurately communicate your personality or the personality or image that you want to communicate? Now ask a trusted friend who you can depend upon to be honest. You may not ever be blessed with gorgeous long locks that captivates the eyes of everyone who passes, but you can have a hair style that is appropriate for your age, lifestyle and makes you look good.

Your next step is to evaluate your current nutritional intake. We really are what we eat and your hair cells are not different. When we consume enough vitamins and minerals to accurately feed our hair it rewards us with shiny, healthy hair. Smoking, junk foods, recreational drugs and alcohol all rob our bodies of essential nutrients and it shows.

Visit a hair stylist who is well versed in helping people determine the best style, cut and color for their hair type and facial structure. You may be taken by soft curls that bounce around the shoulders but your hair and facial structure may lend themselves more appropriately to a shorter, straighter cut.

Take the advice of the stylist under consideration and if you aren\’t ready to take the leap, then visit a salon that has wigs. Try on a few with the cut and color that were recommended as well as the styles that you would imagine look best on you. Discuss these options with that trusted friend. Take pictures so you can look at them later and then make your decision.

Think about the amount of time you want to take grooming yourself in the morning before work and what the style will look like on Saturday mornings when you don\’t take the time to curl, straighten and de-frizz. Take all of these factors into consideration before making a decision and then go for it!

Remember that hair grows back. The decision you make today isn\’t a life time decision. You may have to live with it for a period of time but it isn\’t permanent.

Your hair style is an important part of your personal style because it is often the first thing others notice about you. Your face is the first thing that people look at and your hair is the icing on that cake.
